Curtis Thigpen on baseball cards

Curtis Thigpen played five seasons in the Blue Jays organization, making the major leagues in 2007 and 2008. Now teaching baseball in Austin, Texas, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.

"Collected and still have many of them. I went after Pudge, Piazza, and Cal Ripken mostly. Collected from 11-14 years old. My favorite card- bought a $5 box of Donruss cards and got an autographed Donruss Elite Ryne Sandberg valued at $250 at the time- maybe more now. Also a Ken Griffey rookie card. My dad has some good ones from the '52 Topps set. I do not collect them any more."

Thanks! Here is one of his cards, from 2007 Topps.
